COSY MOMENTS WITH MARMEE AT MARKETING~

hehehe... i just came back from marketing at Hougang Point with marmee. it has been a long long time since i stepped in there. a renovation had been done and the grand opening was long over and still i haven't yet gone down once until marmee jio me while having dinner together earlier...

i love marketing. i have to do this every weekly, it has become part of me. i like seeing my fridge full with all the food i eat and will need if i do cooking. i simply can't stand any food missing when i need it. this week, i have no time to do marketing even today, but i was home early and was intending to go groce shop anyway, but with marmee was way better! = ) i go marketing usually alone! off we went after the 7pm drama and was aiming to be home for the 9pm show, but boy! we were still looking by 0930pm!

geee...... i shop like a man when i do marketing. i go straight to the item, grab, pay and off i go. i don't mind strolling around with marmee since i hardly have time with her. in fact, i yearn to spend more time with my family whenever possible. even having dinner together is really one of the few precious moments i hold dear to my heart. marmee was saying in future, we shall go earlier say 7pm... "er... marmee, days when i am not working and if i am home, i really want to just sit without any disturbance and watch my tv. i am local drama deprived!"

ok, next time we go, we shall go earlier so we can watch both the night shows and yet able to groce shop together! i do alot of things alone and enjoy that bit of ME space to my own but i realised with mum by my side, it feels good too, to discuss and learn how to choose fresh foods and being able to explore even more than what i already know. = ) when i am alone, i seldom look at poultry and seafood but with mum, i love looking and buying when she is with me, cos she is so experienced in buying the best yet at a cheaper price. she knows the rates all at the back of her mind. marmee hasn't gone for wet marketing for sometime now due to work.... i have decided! to go wet marketing from now on, on her behalf besides my weekly groce shop at supermarts cos if you want fresh seafoods, nowhere else can be any fresher than those selling in wet markets! we were looking at white shell meats, salmon, cod fish, flower crabs and prawns, marmee was shaking at the prices and me at the mocking freshness they can provide.

ok, here's a showcase of my conquer list tonight:
here we have------>
green seedless grapes. back and streaky bacon, chicken chipolata, mushroom luncheon and chicken roll. (foc a pkt of prata for purchase up to 4oogm) heh!
meiji pink milk and yakult (heavenly drink)
udon noodles, enoki, fish cake, fish steak, kuning fish, chicken paos, china cabbage, lettuce, crossaints, seawaves cuttlefishballs.
pocky strawberry, dark chocolate, cheese slices and ice cream treats for the oldies.


i could have gotten more but marmee says NO to almost all my advances with 2 reasons, "girl, it's ex, you should get from pasar." or it's unhealthy.

i wanted to buy my champagne grapes, mum shook her head, said 'enough' and went on to substitute it with the green seedlesss grapes. okay, i am cool about it. they are grapes after all if you say. and those greeny seedless cost 1.36 compared to 7.00 for a box of champagne. but trust me, champagne is really sweeeeett!!!! i wanted to buy zespri kiwis at 3.10 for a box of 4, and marmee says i am real bad at money. i don't mind paying abit more if what i am buying is worth but marmee who is good at finance begs to differ. okay, i should say i can continue buying like this if i continue being a swinging single!

i wanted to get blueberries, my favourite fruit and she reminded i have one box waiting to be finished, wait til i finish that box which she has no idea when... haha!!! quite fast mum! fine, i only saw organics ones there which is selling at jaw dropping 5.50 per box plus they are not the brand i want.

i go on wanting to put in red capsicum and beansprouts and she said "girRllLll.... you can get this from pasar, don't buy them here." ok, i put them back.

i wanted to buy instant mee for night times when hunger pangs comes, she says she wants to go home and that it is very unhealthy and i should not eat these at night unless i want to get fatter! -_-!!!!!!!!!!! win liao, she spoil my desire for wanting to get them but she is right. : )

the seafoods we saw were seriously not fresh which isn't any surprising. i am not disappointed cos when it comes to seafoods, i want nothing but the freshest! i prefer seafood to poultry actually, i love seafood alot alot... so, marmee has set me a task to get them from the wet market she always goes to next week!

hehe... so next week i will get seafoods like white shell meat( i want to try making my own clam chowder) salmon which bro and i love, squids and prawns to go maggi mee with from wet market.
eh....at least, i am still not so clueless as to go buy my red chilli, garlic, onions, ginger, spring onions, limes in supermarts lah..... i will get them from wet markets too! so much cheaper!!!!!!!!!!!! i am also gonna get enoki, sweet potatoes, potatoes, tomatoes, corn, carrots, beansprouts, capsicum, dried mushrooms, beancurd, fish cakes, chinese cabbage, chye sim, yong tau foo and more if marmee adds on to the list now that she knows i am willing to make a trip to wet market just for the seafoods.. i like buying all at one go! hey! i realised i did not mention chicken nor pork at all!!!! my family don't like taking alot of meat in fact. Eeks!
