happy new year, pull your ears!

Nice staying home on the first day of CNY compared to battling at work for the past two years. Not that I mind working, since I do not enjoy paying visits at others' homes except at Granny's. I can sleep, eat, snack, read and even blog in my own comfort zone, just like what I am doing now, I certainly live up to the zodiac for this year, the year of PIG!

As far as I am concerned, Reunion Dinner is priority. I do not give a hoot to the first or second day, but new year's eve, I want to be home and start the dinner together with my family. Aside the fact that my lovely Mother will be whipping up many of our favourite dishes, I care more about the part where regardless of what, we all make a point to be home by 6plus all showered fresh and ready for mum to shout "dinner start"! Then we will tuck in together, into those hot piping fried foods, curry, soup and my favourite shark fins!! He..hehe.. My mother makes a mean recipe! One big pot of all premium goodness!! *Gc drools* After which we will wash up, laze in the living room to watch teebie, chit-chat, and eat again when we get hungry till late night close to 12, we will pray and this marks the beginning of a new year! We are then off to do whatever we fancy...

I love parts of new year's eve whereby 5plus afternoon, people already end their day and close their shops. By 6pm, it is considered late to be still out in the streets while most are already home or on the way. Isn't it very nice if this is how we function our daily lives? Just like the time I was in melb, by 6plus, my friend's sis is home to make dinner, be a couch potato by 7pm and certain days, goes for dance classes and home again latest by9plus and get ready to sleep or still can afford a read in bed before turning in. How relaxing.. I also like to see the parking lots behind my house all fully taken up by 0630pm which indicates the day has ended and everyone is home for dinner. It is nice to see the road clear of cars this early too... Finishing work at 5pm and 11pm makes a huge difference to you mentally! By 11pm, your brain is totally drained of thinking power and you are exhausted physically with both your legs aching so much they cry for massage! I prefer day short, night long lifestyle! I am a night person! Or at the very least, make it the nation's practice, all works ceases and companies stop functioning by 5pm! But, at this age where everything calls for efficiency, alot services are going towards 24/7 running!! Look at F&B industry! sigh... Unless I go stay in a less competent country....

I dread visits during CNY cos it's always the interogating time... Often, it is not like these people are really concerned about what is going on in your life. Perhaps, they are just trying to make a conversation to fill up the silence and make the atmosphere a lively one. But, not on me! I am a private, low key person. I do not like furnishing people whom I am not concerned about or even close with, details of my going-ons. So, why would I even bother myself answering whatever questions you arrow me on these 2 days anually? Hur.. hur..

No matter what seasons, I am only particular about being with the right people . With the right company, good times and great food follows naturally.. The beginning of this new year in a way did not start well nor look good to me, though the chain of events did not directly affect me, but in someways, it does a little. I hope with the ushering of CNY which marks the 1st day of 2007, all of us are able to set things right in place and go about fufilling those that we have planned for the coming months! may things runs well and be smooth sailing for all of us this year! XIN NIAN KUAI LE!!! CAI2 YUAN2 GUN3 GUN3!

Brother bought me these cheesecakes while out shopping with dad in the afternoons yesterday! hehe.. Bro, I won't have the cakes and eat them all up. We will share these k.
