No Longer Obsessed over MoNoGrams..

I had my very first luxury wallet from LV when I was 16.

7 years ago, while shopping with Clara one afternoon at Takashimaya, we passed by the store, were attracted and minutes later, both of us were in the store browsing!

I liked the feel of the wallet I held the first time. The material used inside the wallet was what I wanted too. Smooth, sturdy canvas, not some black cloth used to store your notes which made the whole thing looked cheap.

Since then, it has always been LV and no other brands and this became a yearly affair. I was addicted and always checking out the new designs, new line coming up. Surfing on the web and popping by the store to check out items I was aiming for, to see if it's worth the buy!

I was tidying up my bags cabinet and chanced upon the stash of receipts which I kept for each luxury item I bought.

This is the key&change holder, a popular, staple item. Great for a start for those people who wants to own a LV. The cheapest to get and yet not cheap for that size. The price now is about $225, $250. Last time, it was only at $125.

Oooh.. I LOVE this wallet! Initially the wallet I wanted to get wasn't this. But the style is still the same, a flap&stud closure wallet. I wanted a feminine wallet. I was reluctant to get after seeing the wallet, cos the card slots arrangement was weird. Bro advised me to look at other wallets since I was not all ON to buy it and yet I must get my new wallet no matter what, that day. The sales associate brought this out and wahahaha! There were Red, Orange, Blue. I chose orange cos it's a vibrant color and Red as my bro shook his head, said it's good for auntie! The logo is discreet which I like and I like the cross grain lining. Bro paid $300 for my new wallet as a new year gift, hoping it brings me good luck and it has ever since 旺我！I was so happy about my new wallet, I couldn't sleep that night.

These two items are my last buy, till today as I am blogging now, I have not bought a single item. I made sure I conquered one item every year until last year, I had a different thought.

Throughout the 7,8 years, I had been going after luxury goods relentlessly. I would say I was a rich student, teenager to be able to afford all these. I never had a holiday job before during my school days and had my first commitment job only at 21. Before that, I was just working part time earning a mere few hundred bucks. I paid my own hp bills since day one I got my first Nokia 3210 at 17. I never once asked my parents for money ever since I finished high school. All these are victory items I conquered with my own moolah. I never asked anyone for money before, just so that I can buy them. I also wasn't brainstorming hard how I could get more money so I could buy them soon during those days.. Plus the fact, I was always dining in fancy restaurants, cafes, every Friday after school in Swensens, Sushi tei.
At 14, I was into Elle paris, Converse, Fila
Then, I was into Guess, Mango, Levi's,Perlini's, Follie follie, Calvin klein and DKNY when I was 15, 16, 17.

When I was kinda "poor"... I guess I chased after these luxury goods to complete myself with a sense of satisfaction? That is why I used the word "CONQUER" I CONQUERED THEM and I collect them. I like going after things far from my reach. But, when time comes to an extent, that you can easily buy more on frequent basis, it lost it's appeal. Maybe, to other people, a DKNY watch is akin to LV, luxury&good enough. But, to me it's a pocket friendly brand like Fossil. I buy only because I like it, it's quality and design is good, not because it's branded just like I have never spent my moolah on Dior, Fendi, Gucci, PRADA.

我领悟到， 能用钱买来的东西， 不是真正的快乐。

These days, I adore cute stuff, good designs, great functionality. It can be brandless, luxury as long as it's unique and you don't see it everywhere on the streets. Most importantly, it catches my heart and fuel a desire to own it. It no longer has to be MonoGram, meaning the brand is all over, so loud that people can see what brand it is at one glance!

I am so obsessed with BAGS IN BLACK lately! I appreciate designs that stands out despite being in solid black. Weird enough, the recent black Bag I bought from Esprit that costs only $90 makes me really happy just like those times whenever I made a LV purchase. Loving it, treasuring it dearly & taking good care of it. As you grow older, you tend to go for simpler things?
I definately love and support quality products, just that my eyes opens up to other various brands now, not stubborn on just solo brand LOUIS VUITTON. = )
