I seized the chance and started planning everything discreetly on 2nd February 2010 at Lunch.
I took a risk again! a risk that could end up only me going to stay at the hotel when the day comes.
Mark has two trials coming up and no one knows when the verdict will come.
I could only cross my fingers and hoped that it comes after 9th Feb if not at least after CNY.
and it did! I was relieved and happy to know he can spend the new year with his family and will be around during festives.
only when risk is taken, can we make things happen!

The room was booked in conjunction with the Valentine's promo. I didn't want to wait till I know when the verdict comes cos, I believe the later I book, the more expensive it will be when the date draws closer and I could well end up with no room. and indeed, the rate went up by $80 more even one day before cny eve.
I like the hotel. We both love the hotel. We go there for buffets and the moment you step in, it has a very welcoming scent. This hotel provides Free WIFI, beverages in mini bar Free!

that aside, I loved the idea that breakfast was at Carousel, our favourite buffet place. =)
These days, I love FREEbies! I love discounts! I love perks! = )
The room came with bathtub that he wants and breakfast we both like at our favourite restaurant.
Given it's a five star hotel, situated at the heart of Orchard (I wanted to see how CNY first day is like, in Orchard), smoke free hotel, breakfast at Carousel, FREE WIFI, beverages at the price paid, it was all worth. (I don't mind them coming up with more, better promos anytime!)
After giving so much hints, You guys should be able to guess at which hotel we spent our day?
If not, too bad... one person lesser to know this great hotel!
Haha! But, my hints are more than obvious! Google it and You will be led to this nice hotel. =)
Room was confirmed and I came up with a check list of what else I needed to prepare for both of us, since the whole idea was to relax and basically do nothing on that day.
I do not even want to step out of the room abit just because I forgot to bring something or food was insufficient!

I told him a lie on cny eve and said that I have already booked tickets for a show in town the next day in the afternoon. He got upset and said I made my own decisions Again without asking nor discussing. and that I need to form the habit of asking instead of only informing him after I made my decisions. I can't do whatever I want like I am single. He said he needed to be home to attend to his relatives and help his ah ma to clear and clean up after. He had also promised to help his relatives take their family portrait. I got pissed off also and we quarralled. Haha..!
I thought "great, now I have the whole room to myself and can help myself with all the good food" and complained to Clara on msn. I felt better after talking to her and she will join me if the next day I am confirmed alone. His msgs came in and we both took a step back cos it's true, while we wish our friends and family wishes for the festives, we must be happy too, most importantly.
This short secret was well kept because he was still shocked at the point of checking in. I could see it was a sweet surprise for him on his face and he kept asking " How did you manage to book?" I told him I booked early, that's why! and his next question that came was "如果我现在不在， 你不是要自己来？" That's right! I said. But, if I don't take the risk, this wouldn't happen right?
Smugly, he did not smell a rat. He's usually sharp, very observant and I am one who can hardly keep surprises in suspense. That's why I don't like buying presents early cos I can't keep it till the day comes to give it to the person! I think I did a good job this time to 忍！
The stay was comfortable and quiet with good amenities. We did not step out of the room until after 11pm (craved for hot soup) and stroll half a semi circle down from far east plaza back to hotel. the streets quiet except for few small groups around. The breakfast buffet spread was good. we woke up at 645am for breakfast. hiak hiak... and went back at round 745am to catch more sleep before checking out at 12pm.
that's how my 初一 and valentine's was spent and it will always be in my memory. A great stay and truly relaxing with all the indulgences. Mark was totally spoilt....
