The I PHONE CRAZE

This morning, I was an early bird!
There is a chinese saying which goes "早起的鸟儿, 有虫吃"
If I literally translate, it says "the early bird catches the worm."
You guys have surely heard of my mobile phone story earlier..
If you haven't, here you go!
I went to find out at Singtel Compass Point last week that I can only re-contract on the 8th Feb, else I need to pay $100 extra as that will be considered a re-contact at 12 months instead of 21 months.
That afternoon, I was all ready to bring a new phone home cos I am at the final point with my current.
My phone choice this time.... I Phone!
Especially after I tried a few games on tf's although I am not a games person. =)
It's touch screen, I like the message thread which I can refer when I reply text and what draws me most is the loads of apps available at the Apps store. Just these are enough to make me wanna own it.
Pals who were with me to check it out, advised me to wait. Anyway, it was only a month away.. What for pay $100 extra?
However, there is this thing about me. That is, once I decided to do something, want something or like something, I don't give up easily.
In other words, once I set my mind on something, that is the final! Like I said, I am at the final point with my current phone so much so that, I do not text much these days as it's a hassle.
I can tolerate imperfections, inconveniences for relatively long, but once I made a decision, you guys can guess it's fate.
New phone, I phone was on my mind the few days after that day at Singtel. I knew I wanted it.
After my hair appointment and dinner with Jess D on last night, she accompanied me to Singtel at Takashimaya. It was near to closing time and I was the last customer to be served.
I enquired with the staff and asked whether I could re-contract there and then instead of waiting till Feb since it is only less than a month away. After checking, the attending associate told me I could without paying the extra $100!! Nice!
WooHOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yipeeee...!
Then he asked what phone I wanted. I told him I phone.
"Sorry Mdm, I Phone is Out Of Stock."
-_-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "Okay, any idea when it's coming in again?"
"No Mdm, we do not know when, as we are also waiting for Apple's reply."
Heart shattered..... Then on the way home, mind told me "Get it tomorrow at Compass."
So, this morning in tow with Tf, we reached Compass before 12pm.
I was getting all excited cos the board at front of Singtel showed I Phone 16GB and 32GB available.
Got a queue number and there was like 20 people before me.
We decided to snack abit while waiting at MACS.
Amidst chatting and discussing what I Phone casing I wanted and etc, I suddenly asked Tf... "Do You think later skali my turn, they tell me I Phone is Out Of Stock?"
Tf with a look of disbelief said " can't be lar.... we saw there were stock when we took a number just now."
Then I told him it could be... and started sharing with him about my buying history..
What happens is whenever I wanna buy something.. It's either the last piece left or Out of Stock.
Like a Swatch watch I wanted to get previously, I was informed it was World Wide OUT OF STOCK.
Like a lip gloss I wanted from MAC, it was Island Wide OUT OF STOCK... Even HK had no stock when Adr was there.
After sharing with him and we were also done with the snacks, Tf suggested to go over to Singtel and wait just in case.
I thought it was a good idea and the minute we were back at Singtel, Tf went to check on the serving number and came back telling me "wah, there's still more than 10 pax infront of us, you know. So slow..."
I pinched him when he was telling me that cos me on the other side saw something UNBELIEVABLE while he was checking out on the queue number....
The board in front showed " I Phone 16GB & 32GB OUT OF STOCK."
I gestured to Tf to look at the board...
He was of a look of SHOCKED!
"huh? Really anot Grace jie? Just now, when we were here, it shows available right?"
It was his turn to doubt. He must have thought eyes were playing a trick on him. Haha!
Then he walked over to the staff and asked whether I Phones were Out Of Stock already. It was..
Next he proceeded to ask for their business card so we can call up and check which outlets has stock "we were informed, we can't call in to check as we need to walk in to purchase and they do not put customers on waiting lists for I phones too." It was a First come, First serve basis....
Disappointed we left. Boo Hoo Hoo! Tf said he couldn't believe I Phone is selling like hotcakes in the market now and in such great demand. It was exaggerating which I thought so too. He also start to believe my buying history! Haha!! Lucky, we walked back after snacking or else if we had happily waited till the sms service from Singtel to notify us that our turn was reaching only to be informed I Phone was Out Of Stock, it will be even more upsetting and a total waste of our time!!!
If I wasn't interested to purchase, I wouldn't know demand for I phone is this crazy.. It's like everyone wants a piece of it! I even heard people queue up outside Singtel in the mornings before shop opens to try their luck getting the I Phone... WOW!
I will try this tomorrow morning.
Or peeps, if you guys passes by Singtel and see the board shows I Phone 16GB available, kindly help me grab a queue number and let me know, I will fly down! Arigatoooossssss!!!
It is this crazy, I know. For I desperately need a new phone and I want a I phone!!!!
